The Divine Frenzy of Inspiration

How do you define Inspiration?

From the WWW:

  • arousal of the mind to special unusual activity or creativity
  • a product of your creative thinking and work; “he had little respect for the inspirations of other artists”; “after years of work his brainchild was a tangible reality”
  • a sudden intuition as part of solving a problem
  • divine guidance: (theology) a special influence of a divinity on the minds of human beings; “they believe that the books of Scripture were written under divine guidance”
  • arousing to a particular emotion or action

Inspired by color, Wearpalettes.com, says it even better:

In Greek thought, inspiration meant that the poet or artist would go into ecstasy or furor poeticus, the divine frenzy or poetic madness. He or she would be transported beyond his own mind and given the gods or goddesses own thoughts to embody.

“Divine Frenzy” – now we’re talking. Indeed, I’m sensing a familiar restlessness that says, “Grow or go, dammit.” I have a long history of “going”, so my supposed-to-be-adult self has put a lot of effort into the growing. But sometimes, you need some of both.

Let’s sum it up like this from Creato-Destructo Imagery:

“BEAUTY IS NOT JUST IN THE EYE OF THE BEHOLDER. IT’S EVERYFUCKINGWHERE.”

Where will you go for inspiration?
