Thanks for a good post, Tao. I hadn't known about adding 1/2 cup vinegar to the wash cycle to reduce static electricity; good to know. We use our basement clothesline for about 75% of our clothes-drying, but the other 25% can benefit from your advice!

For readers who have made some good green New Years resolutions, I created a simple tool last year that helped me follow through about five times better than in past years. For those interested, I'm making it available: http://www.diamondcutlife.org/how-to-follow-through-on-new-years-resolutions/

Yes. A clean Earth starts at home. Earth=Home. Along with household chemicals, I'm removing old paint and such from basement this year. Greensboro has a pretty good recycling and hazardous material program, although voluntary. Aluminum is mandatory. There's still way too many folks that do NONE, so keep talking it up!!
